Generic Name: Pantoprazole

Indication:

• Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that binds irreversibly and specifically to the proton pump, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion. Pantoprazole has a relatively long duration of action compared with other PPIs and a lower propensity to become activated in slightly acidic body compartments.
• Pantoprazole reduces the amount of acid your stomach makes. It’s used for heartburn, acid reflux and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD)– GORD is when you keep getting acid reflux. It’s also taken to prevent and treat stomach ulcers.
