Generic Name: Moxifloxacin
Indication:
- Moxifloxacin is in a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. It works by killing the bacteria that cause infections. Antibiotics such as moxifloxacin will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.
For the treatment of following bacterial infections:
- Acute bacterial sinusitis.
- Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis.
- Community acquired pneumonia.
- Complicated skin and skin structure infections.
- Indicated for the treatment of adults (>18 years of age) with mild, moderate and severe infections caused by susceptible strains of microorganisms in the conditions listed below:
- Acute bacterial sinusitis.
- Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis.
- Community acquired pneumonia.
- Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections.
- Complicated intra-abdominal infections (including polymicrobial infections such as abscesses).
- Complicated skin and skin structure infections (including diabetic foot infections).
